Theta Phi Alpha Announces Installation of Delta Kappa Chapter at Hobart and William Smith Colleges

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – The Grand Council of Theta Phi Alpha is pleased to announce the installation of the Delta Kappa Chapter at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.

The celebration kicked off on Saturday, Dec. 2, with the initiation of 41 collegians at the Fisher Center on campus. The chapter installation ceremony and celebration was attended by more than 90 people total, including National Officers, collegians, alumnae, university administration, as well as friends and family members of the newest Theta Phi Alphas.

Leading the day’s events were Michelle Porter, National Executive Secretary, and Samantha Wyant, Extension Event Specialist. Also in attendance was Francesca Chaba, Leadership Consultant, Mary Schaffer, Chapter Advisor, Taylor Strunsee, Chapter Advisory Board member, and Marisol Elliott, Conference Director. Members from the Gamma Omicron and Gamma Mu chapters, as well as alumnae from the Northern and Central New York Alumnae Association also travelled to Geneva to show their support during the installation and initiation.

“The founding women of our new Delta Kappa chapter are off to an incredible start thanks to the strong support of our volunteers as well as our national organization," said Susan Lee, National President. "We're excited to see all that this chapter can do as the first NPC organization on campus, not only for the sisters of Theta Phi Alpha, but for the entire Geneva community."

Founded in 1912, Theta Phi Alpha is a women’s organization to provide close comradeship; to advance educational, social, and philanthropic interests and leadership training; to encourage spiritual development and adherence to the highest moral standards; and to promote lifelong bonds of friendship; a fraternity for college and university women and alumnae. Theta Phi Alpha was founded at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor; today there are 57 active collegiate chapters, 33 alumnae associations and four alumnae clubs in the United States.
